This policy explains which cookies Energy Flow Hub uses and why. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. They are used to make a site work, to remember choices, and in some cases to measure how a site is used.
Some cookies are strictly necessary, meaning the website cannot function properly without them. Under UK law these do not require your consent. Any other cookies — including analytics and advertising — require your permission before they are set.
What we use at the moment
We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website.
We use only strictly necessary cookies, and only in the circumstances described below. Most visitors who simply read the guides will have no cookies set at all.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| wordpress_*, wordpress_logged_in_* | WordPress | Keeps a user signed in. Only set for website administrators, never for ordinary visitors. | Session, or up to 14 days |
| wp-settings-* | WordPress | Remembers admin screen preferences. Administrators only. | 1 year |
| _lscache_vary | LiteSpeed Cache | Tells the cache to serve the correct version of a page. | Session |
| wfwaf-authcookie-*, wf_loginalerted_* | Wordfence | Website security and firewall protection. | Up to 12 hours |
| Form protection | Fluent Forms | Guards the contact form against spam and duplicate submissions. | Session |
Cookie names and durations are set by the software that creates them and may change when it is updated.
Embedded tools
Our calculators and visualisers are embedded from subdomains of this website. They run entirely in your browser and do not set tracking cookies or send your inputs to us.
Anything you type into a calculator stays on your device. We do not see it, store it or receive a copy.
Analytics
We use Google Search Console to understand how our pages appear in search results. Search Console works from Google’s own search data and does not place cookies on this website or track your visit.
If we add Google Analytics in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before any analytics cookies are set.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, blocking them will not affect your ability to read the guides, though it may prevent the contact form from working correctly.
Guidance for common browsers is available from the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy whenever the cookies we use change. If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent before setting them.
Questions about cookies can be sent to hello@energyflowhub.co.uk.
